- What kind of laser system are you using?
US LaserMade uses 2 Co2 lasers from Universal Laser Systems, Inc.
- What kind of materials can be cut?
Materials that can be cut include: common hard and soft woods, most exotic woods, plywoods,
fiberboard, pressboard, mdf, vinyl laminated wood, matboard, craft paper, paper products, engraving plastics, acrylics, leather, rubber, many gasket materials, thin polystyrene foam sheeting. Others are discovered
continuously. Please note that CO2 lasers in this power range will not cut metals.
- What kind of materials can be engraved?
Engraving materials include: engraving plastic, acrylic, coated metals, wood, glass, stone, leather and rubber. Most organic materials engrave well.
- Can you help if I need to place markings on metal surfaces?
Yes! US LaserMade has been successfully using a product that when combined with laser activation, leaves an indelible marking on a variety of metal,
glass, and ceramic surfaces.
- How fast is the laser?
Speed varies and is dependent upon whether the laser is cutting, marking, or engraving. The detail required and the type of material are also a factor. The maximum speed of the laser
system is 50" per second in a raster engraving setup.
- How much does laser cutting or marking cost?
Laser services are very economical. Generally the three variables that determine cost are: the type of material and who supplies it, the amount of laser time to do
the job, and the quantity of work to be done. Contact us to discuss your ideas.
- How does laser cutting compare to die-cutting?
Laser cutting is much more economical than die-cutting. First, there is no die to manufacture. The laser can work right from a design file. Second, design changes
are fast and easy, changes in the design are reflected immediately in the cutting file. And third, there are no blades to sharpen or replace. The last part cut is a clean and correct as the first.
